Acacia Endodontics is the only endodontic practice in Arizona currently using this new technology in the conventional and surgical treatment of endodontic/oral-facial dental disease.
The WaterlaseTM YSGG Laser by Biolase of California is fully approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of diseases of dental hard tissues (enamel and dentine), dental pulpal tissues, periodontal tissues, oral soft tissues and maxillofacial bony tissues.
This new laser surgery endodontics (laser surgery root canal) technology works through energizing ultra-small water droplets (hydrokinetic energy) by the action of the YSGG laser light on the individual molecules of water. These energized water molecules are the agents, which actually do the tissue cutting, and it is done without the build up of heat or vibration.

In conventional endodontic (root canal) treatment, the action of the WaterlaseTM YSGG Laser acts to more completely clean (debridement) the complex intracanal anatomy of infected/affected canal anatomy, which in turn can provide an increased margin of clinical success and tooth retention. The WaterlaseTM YSGG Laser also has a number of tremendous applications in laser surgery endodontics, which can serve to enhance the retention of teeth through surgical means.
